Minor Div 1 Championship Rd 1

Great start for Summerhill in the Meath Minor Championship this evening in a game played in very blustery conditions.
A strong 1st half saw the home side lead Navan O’Mahonys by 3-7 to 1-5 at the break with the goals coming from Cormac Murray, Brian Quinn and Daniel Gaffney.
O’Mahony’s slowly but surely dragged themselves back in to the game in the 2nd half and look to have earned a draw with a goal on the stroke of full time. To their credit Summerhill broke forward and a Daniel Gaffney point saw them retake the lead. A great free from Bobby O’Shea from the resulting kickout sealed a hard fought win on a scoreline of 3-12 to 4-7.
