U14 Summer League Round 1

Summerhill got off to a flying start in the u14 summer league on Wednesday night at home to Skyrne.

Although the scoreline says otherwise this was a hard fought encounter on a warm and humid summer evening, and the domination on the scoreboard was due to a suberb team display. Skryne opened the scoring with a point and it was nip and tuck up to half time with the goal coming from midfielder Kian Hussey, who helped himself to another in the second half.

A gritty display from the full back line of Darren Chapman, Adam Byrne and Gavin McVann spoiled repeated attacks from a fast Skryne outfit, while at the other end Jamie O'Shea, Eoghan Frayne, Adam Mc Donald and Jamie Ryan Meegan kept the scoreboard ticking over. In all, eight different players got on the scoreboard which bodes well for the summer season.

Next game away to Dunderry Thursday 2nd July.
