Leinster Minor Club Competition

Summerhill travelled to Carlow town on Wednesday evening to play in the quarter finals of Eire Og's Leinster minor club competition to take on Graiguecullen of Laois. This competition brings together all the county Division 1 minor winners in lenister.
Summerhill lead by double scores at half time 2-3 to 0-6 and quickly doubled this lead early into the second half. Unfortunately the game was finished early due to what seemed at the time to be a serious injury to a Graiguecullen player that required an ambulance. Due to this injury Graiguecullen understandably conceded the game. Thankfully we were later told that the player was taken to hospital  for x-rays/ test and was later given the all clear and allowed home. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope he is back on the field sooner rather than later. The scoreline in the end was Summerhill 4-6 Graiguecullen 0-6.
Summerhill now qualify for semi final were they will play one of the following, Ferbane (Offaly), Pallitine (Carlow), Newtown Blues (Louth), Moorefield (Kildare) or Ballymun/Ballyboden (Dublin). The semi final will be played in 2 weeks in Carlow
