ACF'A'League Div.1 Round 8.

Summerhill travelled to Ashbourne tonight to take on league leaders Donaghmore/Ashbourne and hopefully get a win that would put them at the top of the league table, the last couple of times these teams met it was the homeside that came out on top.In a first half that was very pedestrian the home side took the lead and it was eleven minutes before David Dalton  registered the first score for the visitors, going in at half time a point down (0-5 to 1-3). It was a totally different game in the second half with both sides battling hard for scores, a goal from Kevin Lyons nine minutes into the half put Summerhill ahead for the first time and a second well taken goal from Ross Ryan midway through the half put the 'hill' in the drivers seat. In fairness to Donaghmore/Ashbourne they kept plugging away and with some fine scores from play and the gap closing Summerhill just held on to take the two points and go top of the table.Summerhill now play Seneschalstown on Wednesday night in Summerhill.
